Michael
Kozitskiy was born August 23,1968, in the former
USSR, in a town called Kiev. Michael started
practicing judo at the age of 10 at the Moscow
Central Sport Club Army (CSCA) under his father,
Nikolay Kozitskiy who is a famous coach in the
Ukraine, USSR and CIS.
Michael
earned his black belt at 16. At 18 year of age,
Michael joined the Soviet Army as a member of
the national army team. While in the Army, he
trained with Russian Olympic Team members and
competed in numerous national and international
tournaments. Mikhail was a member of the Junior
Team in 1988, became a part of the Senior Team
in 1989, and was a Ukranian Team Member from
1997 - 2000. He has a Master's Degree in Physical
Education.
